LENAPE VALLEY SWIM & TENNIS CLUB
Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations are set forth by the Club to further the general welfare and convenience of the membership. Please observe them. Parents shall be expected to acquaint their children and guests with these rules and regulations prior to entering the club.

THESE RULES ARE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SIGNED APPLICATION AND MAY BE REVISED AND/OR ADDITIONAL RULES ESTABLISHED AT ANY TIME BY THE MANAGER OR THE OWNERS.

THE POOL MANAGER AND STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO ENFORCE THE RULES AND HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DISCIPLINE ANYONE WHOSE BEHAVIOR IS NOT SATISFACTORY.

ADMISSION
  • PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES!
  • LVS&TC invites all members and their guests to enjoy our Club. All members and guests use the pools and facilities at their own risk.
  • No member 2 years of age and older will be admitted to Club premises without a membership card to be shown at front desk.
  • Membership cards are not transferable. The Club reserves the right to cancel a membership if improper use of a membership card has been established. Lost cards must be replaced at a cost of $5.00 per card.
  • Children fifteen (15) years of age and under will not be admitted unless accompanied by an adult member. All members and their guests must have access to a ride home in case of inclement weather or emergency.
  • ALL FEES AND DUES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. ALL FEES AND DUES PAID ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

POOL HOURS
  • Club will be open daily, weather and events permitting, between the hours of 12:00 and 8:00 PM. All pools close at 7:45 PM and the Club at 8:00 PM. Check Club calendar.
  • Monday through Saturday the pool will be reserved for group instruction between the hours of 7:30 AM and 12:00 PM.
  • Club will be closed when necessary for maintenance operations.
  • Use of the pools is strictly prohibited when there are no lifeguards on duty or when the club is closed.
  • Club may be closed because of inclement weather, lack of attendance, pool maintenance, or the hours may be changed at the discretion of the pool manager.
  • Management reserves the right to schedule occasional events which could be of interest to members or promote the sports of swimming and tennis in which the Club will close early.
  • Please check the calendar for daily, weekly, and monthly events.

THIRSTY WHALE SNACK BAR
  • Snack bar will be open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:30 PM, and/or the weather and attendance permit.
  • Tables on snack bar patio for eating only, one table reserved for staff.

GUESTS
  • All guests must be registered by the sponsoring member upon entering Club. A guest book will be maintained which both the guest and the sponsor will sign. Guests will be admitted at the discretion of the Manager. FAILURE TO REGISTER GUEST WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP WITH NO REFUND.
  • Although there is no set limit at the present time for the number of guests each member may have, the manager may set a limit at any time he/she deems is necessary. This also applies to the number of guests per day.
  • The same guest is limited to four (4) visits per month.
  • There will be an admission fee for all guests/non-members (2 years and older) entering the Club whether swimming or not. Guest/Admission fees are posted at entrance. Admission of one (1) professional caregiver, non-family member, allowed upon medical verification of need. Must be with member at all times when at Lenape Valley.
  • Each member will be responsible for the conduct of his/her guest(s).
  • Guests may leave and return to the club on the same day without additional charge.
  • Guest band test given to person to be able to use deep end of main pool and diving tank - two widths of the main pool, tread for 15 seconds (15 years old and younger).

HOUSE GUESTS
  • The guest must reside in the member's house for a minimum of five (5) consecutive days.
  • Member shall be responsible for his/her house guest at all times.
  • A special card shall be issued to each registered house guest.
  • A reduced fee for house guest, inquire at office.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES
  • SMOKING PERMITTED ONLY IN LOWER PAVILION. ALL BUTTS MUST BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. IF NOT IT WILL RESULT IN A SMOKE FREE CAMPUS.
  • All bathers must shower before entering pool. This is a Department of Health requirement.
  • All diapers must be changed in locker rooms - NOT AROUND POOL AREA. All children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers with rubber pants at all times. Diapers and rubber pants must be covered by swim attire.
  • NO glass or breakable containers of any kind are allowed in the Club at any time.
  • Chairs, blankets, playpens, etc... not allowed on pool deck.
  • No food or eating on pool decks.
  • Running, pushing, horseplay, rough housing, ball playing or disturbances in or about the pool area will not be allowed.
  • Pets not allowed on Club property.
  • Swimmers with infections, open sores, wounds of any type, or bandages may be refused admission to the pool.
  • The lifeguards are in attendance for your protection and safety. Talking and loitering at their stands or diverting their attention in any manner is strictly prohibited. They are guards who guard lives. Parents/Adults are responsible for their own children's conduct at all times.
  • Street clothes will not be allowed in the pools, only bathing suits. Clean T-shirts will be permitted, but no sweat shirts.
  • All trash will be properly disposed of in trash bins or small white cans.
  • Sports Equipment available for member use... Swim Club has the right to collect equipment if being used improperly AND has the right to not give out when weather requires.

GENERAL
  • PARENTS ARE RESPNSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES.
  • Opening and closing dates of the pool and tennis facilities shall be as advised by the Management prior to the start of each session.
  • Chairs and tables for use by members. One chair per person, Chaises by fence for seasonal rental. You may bring your own.
  • Only persons 18 years or older are permitted in the main pool during adult swims, all younger swimmers must completely exit the pool and pool deck area.
  • All playing must be played south of the pool complex in the playing fields.
  • Loitering, smoking, eating, and use of cellular phone cameras in the locker rooms are not permitted.
  • Members are reminded that they will be held responsible for destructive acts committed by themselves, their children, or their guests of Club property.
  • Food may be consumed only in prescribed areas - Snack bar and picnic area - Dispose of trash properly.
  • Abusive language is not tolerated.
  • Members driving their cars shall park them in the area provided, not in front of the truck gate. PARK TO CONSERVE SPACES. NO PARKING IN GRASS AREA IN FRONT OF CLUB. Overflow parking available in field.
  • Members shall drive slowly, 10 MPH or less, and carefully in driveway and parking areas.
  • We are now required to Recycle. Please Help us out by placing all aluminum cans/water bottles in proper recycling container. All cardboard boxes to office or to the truck.
  • All bicycle riders shall use the bicycle parking area and ride with care.
  • An announcement will be made 15 minutes before closing time of the pool.
  • The Club will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property. Your own chaise or chair may be kept overnight in a designated area. Put your name on all items.
  • Radios and TV sets or any other apparatus designed to produce noise shall be operated in a manner not disturbing to others.
  • Paging - announcements and EMERGENCY calls ONLY.
  • Tennis courts are on a first come basis. A one set rule applies if someone is waiting to use the courts. Proper tennis attire is required on courts by all who play - sneakers, shirts, and shorts.
  • Sports equipment available for member use...Swim Club has the right to collect equipment if being used improperly AND has the right to not give out when weather requires.

THE MAIN POOL
  • Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children at all times. Swimmers not permitted in water over their shoulders without passing the Pool Test. * See 'Diving Tank', below. Any child without a band should be watched by their parent/guardian at pool edge or be in the water with the child.
  • Flips off the side of the pool are not allowed.
  • Running on the deck into the pool is not allowed.
  • Do not dive over another person.
  • NO diving into the shallow end of the pool.
  • Face the pool while entering at all times.
  • No Floatation devices allowed in the pool, i.e., Frisbees, balls (including Nerf), rafts, life preservers, etc. Water pistols and big soakers are not permitted.
  • Infants in diapers or not toilet trained are not allowed in main pool or diving tank at any time.

THE DIVING TANK
  • Divers 15 years and younger must be banded by Pool Test.*
  • The diving tank is for diving, aquaclimb, and slides. All posted rules on use and lifeguards instructions must be obeyed at all times.
  • One person on the board at a time - one bounce only.
  • Running off the board is not permitted.
  • Dive straight out from the end of the board, forward facing.
  • Exit only at the ladders, do not swim under boards.
  • * Band/Pool Test consists of swimming 2 lengths of main pool and treading water for one minute, and safety talk. Cost is .50 cents. The member band test is administered at 12:00 PM SHARP prior to Club opening and at 6:00PM each day.
  • Guest band test - swim 2 widths of main pool and tread water for 15 seconds. Given upon arrival - please return band upon departure. Ask any guard on duty at main pool.
  • Only 2 bands per season per child.
  • If lost replacement band $1.00 plus taking test over again.
  • If forgotten child stays in main pool for the day.
  • NO BANDS BORROWED.

THE WADING POOL
  • PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES.
  • Only children 6 years old and younger are permitted in the wading pool unless specified by Management.
  • All children are required to wear proper swim attire at all times. Swim diapers ONLY covered with tight fitting bathing suit is required. No regular diapers are allowed in pool.
  • Children's toys (soft, plastic or rubber) are permitted with the discretion of the Manager. No large rafts are permitted.
  • Use of the frog slide by one child at a time - ONLY feet first down the slide. No toys or tubes permitted on or down slide.

THE ADULT POOL
  • Adult area reserved for any member 21 years and older.
  • Pool to close at 7:30 P.M. OR at the discretion of Management. Pool closed during swim meets.
  • Furniture to remain inside fenced area.
  • Absolutely NO GLASS in pool area.
  • Diving is PROHIBITED in the adult pool.

SPA RULES

CAUTION
  • Pregnant women, elderly persons and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should not enter the spa without prior medical consultation and permission from their doctor.
  • Use of spa by children is PROHIBITED.

  • Do not use spa while under the influence of alcohol (anti-coagulants, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators. stimulants, hypnotics, tranquilizers) or other drugs that cause drowsiness or that raise or lower blood pressure.
  • Do not use spa alone. Maximum occupancy - 8.
  • Observe a reasonable time limit, then shower, cool down and if you wish, return for another brief stay. Long exposures may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.
  • Maximum time limit is 15 minutes.
  • Do not use at water temperatures greater than 104°F.
  • Enter and exit slowly.
  • Keep all breakable objects out of pool area.
